A nice view from the open-air bath

The view from the open-air bath at Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku was outstanding. I was pleased to take a hot spring bath in the beautiful nature and I felt like I had been in the back country. Meals were very luxurious. I recommend here because it was good for its price.

Splendid open-air baths

It is an inn in Takaragawa Onsen, located deep in the mountains with an hour drive from Minakami Onsen. This is a hot spring with secret atmosphere, but is a quite large inn in fact. The best of this inn is its large number of fine open-air baths, and all of them are big and lined across Takaragawa mountain stream. The biggest and most atmospheric bath is mixed bathing, but they offer a woman's bathing wear and you can come in without worrying.

The well-known hot spring in the nature

The reason why I recommend this hotel is that you can enjoy taking a hot spring bath at the well-known Manza Onsen in the mountains in four directions. The inn is not a modern big hotel, but they prepare the things you need. You can enjoy taking different baths and I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with them.

The hot spring is wonderful

I don’t think it’s located in the back country because there are ski resorts nearby. This inn has a wonderful hot spring at any rate. Manza Onsen is famous as a hot spring town and the town is filled with the smell of sulfur. There are many hot spring inns in Manza Onsen, but this hotel has a lot of baths and is famous for hot spring cure. You can enjoy taking a hot spring bath as much as you like. It’s not too much to say that the town is in the back country because you have to drive a mountain road to get there.

Hidden hot springs, close from Tokyo

Going to Kawarayu is just a little more than an hour trip by Agatsuma Line from Takasaki, but you can feel an atmosphere of rustic hidden hot springs. Sadly, it is said that it may be going to sink in the bottom of a dam in the future. I've heard that you can see flying squirrels in some places.

Experience Showa era

There is no other place like here – cheap but has good-quality hot springs, where you can enjoy Ise spiny lobster and turban shell. Rooms are in outdated Showa style, but it will not bother you if you go as a big group. It is a luxury that you can have fun together at night and take a bath while looking at the sea the next morning.

Open-air bath while looking at great views!

Despite its good accessibility with an hour or so from Shinjuku Station, I think this hot spring inn is not very well known. It is located above Fuefukigawa fruit park, one of the new best three night view spots in Japan, and night views of Kofu basin at night are wonderful. Enjoying open-air baths while overlooking the night views is spectacular.

Long-established riverside open-air baths, founded 1674

Long-established and founded in 1674. The riverside open-air baths have been springing out for 300 years and you can enjoy turbid hot springs. There are riverside open-air baths mixed bathing as well as women only, open-air baths for private hire, and separated large public baths for men and women. Hot Springs are all directly from hot spring sources, and you will feel softness of the water as soon as touching it and you can truly relax.

Enjoy great nature and open-air baths

Yagyu no Sho is an orthodox inn, started from Japanese style restaurant "Yagyu" in Shiba-Shirokane, Tokyo. You can taste authentic Kappo cuisine based on Kyoto's Kaiseki cuisine while you are in Izu. Using plenty of seafood as well as food from land and maximizing fresh taste of seasonal ingredients, the essence of "Yagyu no Sho" cuisine can be enjoyed. You can also experience traditional Japanese atmosphere remained in woodlands in Shuzenji that truly relaxes you from the bottom of your heart. Highly recommended inn.

Hot spring inn near train station

This is a hot spring inn with a good location, about 10 minutes by taxi from JR Kofu Station. You can have garden views from atmospheric Japanese-style rooms. Baths are natural hot springs, and there are indoor baths, open-air baths, Goemonburo heated from beneath etc. About meals, you can try teppanyaki with local specialty of Wine beef as well as Sakura pork shabu-shabu. They also offer local drinks such as Koshu wine. I think it is a good idea to go nearby wine cellar for wine tasting.

Hot springs in Okutama

Okutama hot spring area itself may not be well-known. Hot springs run by local governments such as Seoto no Yu are recommended but I recommend this inn if you want a calm stay. I think you will be satisfied with their food, using edible wild plants and others, as well as its atmosphere.
