I am planning to go and see Kamakura igloos in Yokote City, Akita with my friends. Do you know any laid-back inns where we can enjoy local specialty of Kiritanpo pot and hot springs?

My recommendation is Yokote Plaza Hotel. It is nice and convenient, and the nearest to Yokote Station. You can use adjacent natural hot springs if you are hotel guest. One of the advantages of the hotel is to enjoy the specialties of Akita. I have an impression that they have everything you need. I think you can just casually go and enjoy staying♪

A convenient hotel to enjoy all Akita specialties at a time

With the “Akita Komachi plan”, you can experience the taste of Akita, such as Kiritanpo, Hinai chicken, and Inaniwa Udon noodles. You can also enjoy natural springs at the adjacent bathing facility. It is in front of Yokote Station and convenient, so I think it is optimal hotel for sightseeing.

Abundant natural hot springs and a Japanese garden are characteristics

Kamakura igloo Festival in Yokote is a must-see event. It is carried out during the cold season, so you should find an inn where you can warm yourself from the core of the body. I recommend "Yokote Station Onsen Yu-yu Plaza" for this if you go with a group as there have natural hot springs!

You can eat Kiritanpo hot pot with Hinai chicken.

I am not sure if you come by car or train, but this place is very convenient and you can easily go and see Kamakura igloos in Yokote. There are open-air baths with a view of the Japanese garden and the Japanese-style rooms where three of you can stay comfortably. You can choose either Kiritanpo hot pot or Yokote beef for a meal. It is OK with your budget of less than 20,000 yen.

There is a mini-Kamakura igloo in the hotel

There are not many hotels for pleasure in Yokote but business hotels. Those hotels become fully booked fast and in fact it is difficult to book. If you prefer convenience, "Yokote Ekimae Onsen Yu-yu Plaza" in front the station is useful. Quality of spring water is good and comfortable. I couldn’t book a room and just stopped by for hot springs and it is recommended. I went by car and stayed in Kakunodate, a little away from Yokote, though I don’t recommended unless you have a car.... I managed to come back in time for dinner after enjoying Kamakura igloos in Yokote and coming back to Kakunodate in a hurry. Dinner was delicious (you can select Kiritanpo hot pot). Unfortunately, there is no hot spring in the hotel (or large public baths), but it is possible to go to nearby large public hot springs.
