Hakone and Izu are OK but you can go to Kinugawa within 2 hours!

It is a hot spring hotel in the Kinugawa Onsen spa town, a “back parlor” of Nikko.
Surroundings are a spa town, but you can beautifully hear the sound of rivulets of Kinugawa that lets you have peace of mind.
A winter snowscape is beautiful as well as surrounding autumn leaves in the fall, so it is ideal place to visit.
It is conveniently accessible in about two hours by express train from Shinjuku and Asakusa, and it is very calming, relaxingly looking at views through windows!
I went there with some of my friends from high school, and the response at the lobby was flexible and courteous.

How about Wadoh in Chichibu? It is close from Tokyo but very quiet and has hot springs. You can try a bedrock bath to relax. The price is reasonable and the food is creative and delicious. Autumn leaves are very nice. You can relax for sure.

You can easily go to the hotel by train

It is easily reached by train from Tokyo, and unbelievably rich in natural beauty though it is just one hour away from the big city. The hotel has good hot springs and the price is reasonable, and you can enjoy good service. The quality of the food is high for the price, and I think you can rest freely and relaxingly.

Close and relaxing.

About 50 minutes from Ikebukuro to Hanno. Then about 45 minutes from there by bus. Therefore about just two hours from Tokyo, I guess.
It has an atmosphere of a “ back parlor” of the big city.
It doesn’t have any glitz, but I think it is suitable to stay quietly and relaxingly.

Large open-air baths with superb views overlooking Mt. Fuji

The starry night sky is worth a look. You can enjoy the starry sky that can not be seen in a big city. The food is gorgeous and so plenty that you can’t finish, yet the room rate is reasonable. I am a regular guest and will book again in December. They offer one free dish with the Hayawari 28 advance booking.

A hotel located on a hill on the Tokyo Bay peninsula, surrounded by greenery

To relax in nature may be the best way to refresh yourself? Or to play sports or go hiking, away from your day-to-day life? Either way, this hotel seems perfect. I went by JR from Tokyo and certainly within 2 hours. There are also buses operated from here and there and may be faster than JR. There are shuttle bus services from a station as well. The hotel was clean and had a variety of restaurants and shops.
