I will participate in the Tokyo marathon that will take place on February 23, next year! I live in Yamanashi, so I would like to stay the day before at a hotel near the start area. I don't need a meal, so would you please tell me a clean but cheap hotel that you recommend.

Recommended hotel with its convenience and reasonable prices

Located on a corner of skyscrapers including the Metropolitan Government, the hotel is in a convenient location near a station and offers reasonable rooms. Their accommodation capacity is also high, and I guarantee your satisfaction. It is also close to the start point of the marathon, so it has an advantage that you can fully rest before and after the race. You need to make an early reservation, because it is a special event. I wish you the best!

Near the start point

Washington Hotel is very close to Tokyo Metropolitan Government, where Tokyo Marathon starts. Affordable yet beautiful. A subway station is conveniently nearby, and you don't have any trouble in finding a place to eat dinner, even if you get breakfast-only option to stay.

Near Metropolitan Government Building

This is a hotel close to Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the start point of Tokyo Marathon. I can't say it's new but I think it is a perfect place to stay if you prefer a hotel which is cheap, clean, and close toMetropolitan Government Building. There are a main building and a new building, but I don't know the difference because there I've stayed only in the main building. It seems to be cheaper to stay in the main building. Good luck on your marathon!

The best location, best service

You may think of Washington Hotel as expensive but it's surprisingly cheap. Even compared to high-rise hotels around, the rates are fairly reasonable if you stay on lower floors. Also, check-out is easy and your morning will be effortless. The location is excellent as well, so why don't you stay there?

Hotel equipped with fully automatic washer-dryers

A fully automatic washer-dryer is in their room, so your laundry gets dry before the next morning if you set the machine after taking a bath. It is quite convenient as you can carry a smaller luggage. Very close to Toei Oedo Line Nishi 5-chome Station and Tokyo Metropolitan Government, so it is convenient to move around. Nearby supermarket is Maruetsu petit. Although it is called "petit", it is not small at all. There are also several convenience stores nearby.

Close to start point

Tokyu Stay Nishi-Shinjuku is a business hotel, located at the edge of Shinjuku Central Park, near Kumano Shrine intersection. It is only 5 to 10 minutes' walk to the start point, and it is a new hotel only five or six years old. Before and after Tokyo Marathon, they have a special price around ¥10000 per night, and there may still be some available plans. I tried to search Advance Purchase Plan for a single room on Tokyu Stay homepage, there were still some available rooms on Friday, 21st. If it is impossible to book a room in hotels in Shinjuku, why don't you try Shibuya area? There is a bus service to Shinjuku via NHK, Junisou Street, and you can get off the bus near the start point. Do your best.

Beautiful Hotel

It is new and nice, as it just opened few years ago. Price is rather cheaper in compare to the standard in this neighborhood, I think. Security is tight (although it may seem somewhat clumsy in some cases). It is a big plus that there are a washing and drying machine and a microwave in their room, so you don't need to bring a lot of things.

It's on the side of the start point in Shinjuku Central Park

It has a great access as it is on the side of the start point in Shinjuku Central Park, and there will be a free shuttle bus service from Shinjuku Station west exit on the day before the marathon, so it is guaranteed that you won't get lost and stay without a problem. Rooms are bright and clean, and you can choose an either smoking or non smoking room.

Close to start point and it is cheap

Hotels around Shinjuku during Tokyo marathon is busy, so early booking is recommended. Compared to luxury hotels, their facilities are more or less humble, but I think there would be no problem for just a simple stay. You can save quite a lot of money and the advantage of the hotel is its proximity to the start point.

Maybe too too classic in Shinjuku but convenient.

Shinjuku Prince Hotel may sound too classic in Shinjuku, but a staple hotel has its own goodness. I think this kind of standard hotel is better, rather than experiencing trouble in a small place at the time of such an event. I rarely experience any unpleasant incidents there.

I think it has Good value for money

I do not know how much is considered cheap, but I recommend this hotel because you better have a comfort rather than staying in a very old and small business hotel room the day before competing in a marathon race, so that you can maintain a good physical condition. Though it is not too expensive, I think that they offer a good quality service standard as a part of the Prince Hotel chain. This is just my guess, but the price of business hotels nearby would be raised in case of big event, so the price difference between this hotel and others would be even smaller.

Hotel in Nishi-Shinjuku

This hotel is owned by my company, REIT. It is just an normal hotel, but recently management company has been changed to a foreign capital and facilities have been renewed, and now it has become an excellent "value for money" hotel. Please consider staying with us.

Good access and friendly staff

It is said that the hotel had long been operating under a different name but is now transformed with a new name. The building itself may be a little bit old, but you may appreciate a kindness of their staff on the day before the marathon. Very close to Shinjuku Station as well as to Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and easy to find it's location even for a person who is unfamiliar to the area.

Good location & value for money

The hotel is in a good location of Nishi Shinjuku, but also calm and quiet. There are not many rooms, but there is a delicious restaurant on the first floor. The hotel itself is not new but the hotel and rooms are both clean, so I can't complain anything. Facilities are also good. Their beds are quite wide as a hotel of this class, and you wouldn't feel their rooms are small as well. The hotel staff is attentive and kind. Absolutely recommended in compare to cheaper nationwide chain business hotels . I would say the prices are cost-effective. It is highly recommended.

Close to station and reasonable prices

It is just a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit. Since it is closer to the station than to Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Keio Plaza Hotel, it is convenient when you come with a big luggage. More than anything, the room rates are cheap. There is a Japanese restaurant (a bit upscale Izakaya tavern) on the first floor, and I remember seafood from Hokuriku region was very delicious. But there are also many restaurants, Izakaya, convenience stores, so pick your favorite from breakfast to dinner.

Always clean

You have to walk a while from the west exit, but it is sparkling clean. Maybe because it is new, but I felt that this hotel is 2 ranks higher than the one in Hakata, though both are the same chain of Nishitetsu Inn. It is of great value with business hotel prices but higher quality service. Go Go Curry (well-known chain of Kanazawa curry & rice) nearby is also recommended.

Reasonable

Their rooms are cozy and relaxing. Clean and comfortable to stay, and above all, it is cheap. I think I can't complain at this rate, with this room and this location. Its exterior is also nice. It has good access and I think it's great that you can easily go to many places.

Because there is no place to meet your request

There are cheap and clean hotels in the vicinity of the start point, but you may lack of sleep if you are not a person who can sleep with a lot of noise, because there are many rowdy drunken people and foreigners in cheap hotels. Foreign visitors can stay cheaper in Tokyo, so it is not suitable for staying the night before marathon, even prices are high online. (I have some recommendations but you can't book them online) If you are very serious about participating in the marathon, I recommend JR East's Hotel Mets. Prices are high (though cheaper than luxury hotels), but you can sleep soundly because there are less fussing drunks or foreigners.

JR East Group's hotel, with direct access to Chuo line Koenji Station

It has good access from Yamanashi, as it is a hotel of JR East Group with direct access to Chuo line Koenji Station. There are also other hotels near Tachikawa Station, Kokubunji Station, and Musashisakai Station along Chuo line, but the closest to Shinjuku is Koenji, and takes 10 minutes by Chuo line. Rates are also relatively reasonable, I think.

Well-kept secret

It is in front of Nakano station and only a 5-minute Cho line ride to Shinjuku from Nakano, so I think it is more comfortable to stay rather than crowded hotels near the start areas. Prices are cheaper, and their facility is surprisingly clean. You can avoid congestions around the start point, if you get dressed in the hotel room.

Hotel that meets your required conditions and you can be on the start time of the marathon

You can go to Shinjuku from Nakano in 5 minutes by Chuo line express trains, therefore, I think you can say that it is near Shinjuku. In addition, even if traffic is disrupted by certain circumstances, you can go to Shinjuku by more than one route, so I think a good is that you won't be late for the start time of the race. Although the building itself is not new, I think this hotel is neat and maintains its cleanliness, from my experiences so far. In spite of spaciousness of their rooms, prices are reasonable and I think it is highly cost-effective.

Close and comfortable

You can prepare on the day before, such as running on close-by Kanda River banks, and also warm-up on the marathon day. There is a big garden at the hotel, where you can walk or refresh yourself. To go to Shinjuku is about 1500 yen by taxi, or a direct train service is available from Fukutoshin line Zōshigaya Station.
