hotels and ryokans in japan

This inn is situated by the sea, and you can try Kue cooked in your preferred way such as hot pot and rice porridge. You can also eat tuna and a whale to compare. The are different kinds of rooms such as genuine Japanese-style or Asian-taste. I think you can stay satisfyingly at your budget of 30,000 yen. Have fun.

I believe Yamaguchi is famous for Fugu fish so I'm going to travel to Yamaguchi Prefecture. Please tell me an inn with delicious meals and open-air baths.

An inn with great Fugu puffer fish dishes and hot springs

Here Fugu puffer fish dishes and hot springs are great. Not only spacious indoor baths but there are also whirlpools, aroma baths, and baths for walking. You can relax and enjoy views of the beautiful garden in the open-air baths. I chose a Fugu blowfish plan and was very satisfied with the full-course menu including Tessa sashimi, Fuguchiri hot pot and deep fried fugu. Hire-shu sake with grilled fugu fins was also delicious.

You can enjoy hot springs and fugu blowfish, and explor

Where do you go in Yamaguchi? Hagi is recommended for sightseeing.
Hagi is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Yamaguchi, and the birthplace of many great persons at the end of Edo period. There are a lot of places related to those people such as Shoin Jinja.
Hagi Honjin is famous in Hagi, and has rooms with open-air baths and also a facility called Yunomaru where you can enjoy a variety of baths including open-air baths.
Hagi faces the Sea of Japan, and fresh seafood is very delicious. Of course, also fugu puffer fish. The Fugu Zanmai plan is recommended if you want to eat plenty of fugu.

You can enjoy hot springs and fugu puffer fish cuisine

This hotel is located in the castle town of Hagi. There are a lot of point of interests around Hagi and it is an ideal base for sightseeing. The rooms are Japanese-style, and you can choose the size based on a number of people. Not only open-air baths, but the inn’s pride of panoramic garden hot springs are overwhelming. It is known as Hagi Onsen "Kobo no Yu". You can stay at about 12000 yen including tax per adult per night with two meals. Dinner is a Kaiseki multi-course meal, and you can enjoy dishes such as crab, fugu, fish, shrimps, and abalone. Breakfast is either a Japanese set meal or a buffet.

The hotel is not new, but Fugu blowfish was served

There was Fugu puffer fish sashimi at a buffet, even if I stayed with a tour.
Of course it depends on the situation of the time of stay, but there are open-air baths and it is convenient for sightseeing.
It is not very new but the room was Japanese-style room, so I could relax.

Delicious

Recommended inn is Yunoyado/Ajinoyado Umenoya. It is a fabulous restaurant inn in Yuda Onsen in Yamaguchi. I remember Fugu blowfish there was fresh and I enjoyed the Fugu full-course menu. Elaborate dishes using local fresh fugu were delicious. Hot springs are also very pleasant, and it would be particularly nice to stay in the winter.

You can eat a lot of fugu puffer fish.

Yuda Onsen is a historic hot spring in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Spring quality is alkaline and has a high cleansing effect, and your skin becomes smooth without using anything. You can try live fugu sent directly from a market and eat as pan fried or in a hot pot at this hotel. Fugu in the winter is delicious. It is also good that rice is cooked in a clay pot. Rice porridge after Fugu hot pot is delicious. Since it is not so expensive, how about staying there?

Filled with the smell of the sea and great views

Shimonoseki is famous for Fugu blowfish, but "you can eat at a cheaper price for locals in Moji than in Shimonoseki where the price is higher for tourists" according to a shopkeeper in Moji.
A restaurant in Mojiko Hotel had a menu with all kinds of fugu dishes, but I ate at a Izakaya tavern outside when I stayed there.
There is no open-air bath, but the ocean view is superb, and the atmosphere of retro Mojiko was good.
There is a tunnel only for pedestrians and and ferries at Kanmon Strait, and I want you to go to also Mojiko when you visit Shimonoseki.
If you travel by car, it might be good to stop by at Takibe Onsen in Shimonoseki City (a hot spring facility without accommodations). It is recommended as the spring quality was very good.

It is reasonable and the hot springs are good

I recommend Hotel Matsusho in Yuda Onsen in Yamaguchi Prefecture as it is reasonable yet the quality of the hot springs are good. Previously I tried to stay in Shimonoseki but changed my mind as I wanted to enjoy good hot springs. The food was delicious overall and many dishes were served including Fugu puffer fish. You can also order additional dishes. The quality of Yuda Onsen’s hot springs is good, and the open-air baths are great. I took a bath three times in one night. There is also a footbath nearby, and the atmosphere of the spa town is also good.

Open-air baths flowing directly from the source

A famous hot spring in Yamaguchi Prefecture is Yuda Onsen. Yuda Onsen is in Yamaguchi City where a little away from the sea, but they offer a fugu puffer fish cuisine plan and you can eat fugu without any problems. Shimonoseki is widely known for fugu but there is no famous hot spring there. It is up to you which you put a priority on, but I think this inn is the place where you can enjoy both hot springs and fugu. By the way, a special event called “Okami Gekijo (landlady’s performance)” is carried out every day, and the inn became famous because this performance was featured in Matsuko Deluxe's TV program.

About a 10-minute walk to Kamon Wharf.

The hotel is managed by Private School Mutual Aid, and you can get discount if you have a relative who has the membership. You can eat fugu pufferfish at the hotel, but there is a fugu specialty restaurant called Sakai near Kamon Wharf. It is a little more expensive, but the owner is a fugu broker and you can eat certainly good quality fugu. I dined there three years ago and it was delicious. Shirakozake sake with fugu testes was great. They don’t advertise themselves much, so I enjoyed fugu in a relaxing room. For your reference, I include information below! It is about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.

The budget is not mentioned and I can’t say anything, but you can’t go wrong if you choose here

It will be cheaper with an early reservation, so I think you can manage your budget. It has prestigious atmosphere and you can enjoy a calming hot spring inn. About your request of "Fugu blowfish" cuisine, I believe this inn is ranked high for the taste of food that an inn can offer. However if you want to enjoy mainly "Fugu," I recommend you to go to one of the Shimonoseki restaurants.

No.1 in Shimonoseki

This is an inn that is the birthplace of Tetchiri (fugu puffer fish sashimi).
However, it is a little expensive. A course meal at "Fuku" is excellent.
In Shimonoseki fugu is called "fuku," wishing for “Fuku (good luck)”.
Please enjoy "fugu cuisine" while watching ships coming and going through the Kanmon Strait. Early booking is essential as it is often fully booked.
