I am planning to take my holidays in March to go to Kurashiki. I don’t know much about Kurashiki as this is my first time to visit. I would like to know an inn with delicious meals.

I am planning to take a 4-day break in March to travel with my family. I want to go to Kurashiki to feel an atmosphere of its long history. Where do you recommend? My wife and I are a couple in our 50s and prefer a quiet inn with a budget of 30,000 yen per person.

Put a priority on the location

Hello. The main destinations are in Bikan historical quarter, aren’t they? Meals are good at Hotel Santo-ka but it is far. Why not stay in a nearby business hotel and either eat at the hotel or eat out? I recommend a clean hotel near a station.

Recommended

Recommended inn is APA Hotel located in front of Kurashiki Station. It is directly connected to the south exit and very convenient as a base for sightseeing. It is fun to explore the town on your own, especially if it is the first time. Save some money for the hotel and use it for sightseeing.
It is recommended.

In front of a station and convenient

It is located in the building just next to the left of the station, and you can go to a hotel without an umbrella in the rain. The room is rather big and meals are delicious, so I was very satisfied.
30,000 yen per person is way more than enough. Why not buy some souvenirs with the money?
It was convenient that it took about 10 minutes by walk to the tourist destinations.
My wife was also satisfied.

You can calm down.

The room has an open-air bath and dinner is served in the room. I think you can quietly relax as there won’t be many groups in March. Around Kurashiki Station is noisy with tourists, so I recommend to quietly stay a little away from it.

It is a very quiet inn

It is in a quiet area in the mountains. The customer service is excellent and the lobby and the rooms are made spacious, so your body and soul can relax.
Hot springs are radon hot springs and it made my skin surprisingly smooth.
It has been said that it is miraculous from ancient times.
There is Gongen (avatar) founded by Gyoki dating back from the old Tenpyo period.

Breakfast is their pride

There is a delicious restaurant serving Miyazaki free-range chicken in the neighborhood, if you prefer to try. There are a lot of places to eat around Kurashiki Station and Bikan historical quarter. The hotel's breakfast is served many delicious dishes. But you cannot enjoy views because it is on the first floor.

A hotel with a long tradition.

It has been a famous hotel for wedding from the old days and also popular for its lunch recently. My friend got married here and the food was delicious. But I am not sure how it is now because it was quite a long time ago. But I have heard that it is still popular for lunch and dinner. I don’t know if it is quiet or not as the hotel is in the city, but I had an impression that it was a quiet hotel.

Seafood from the Seto Inland Sea

They make an effort, such as Matcha green tea service upon check-in or a Taiko drum show. You can eat a lot of seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, abalone in particular. I liked the baths with marble and tiles and could warm up my cold body.

A hotel utilizing the renovated spinning mill built in the Meiji era

It is an ivy-covered red brick hotel utilizing the renovated spinning mill (Kurashiki Boseki) built in the Meiji era.
It is located in Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter and has been certified as "Heritage of Industrial Modernization", and TV commercial was being filmed in the square when I stayed there.
There are also museums of music boxes and spinning on the premises.

You can choose either Japanese or Western meal, and there are also large public baths in addition to a bath in the room.

A quiet inn next to a park

7-8 minutes by car from Kurashiki Station. It is a quiet inn next to a park. It has Western-style twin rooms popular among couples and a full-scale banquet hall. The food is utilizing mainly Setouchi produce, and you can choose from popular "shabu-shabu," "sukiyaki" with craftsmanship, "Kanisuki" during the cold season, the taste for adult "Sakanachiri", and a Kaiseki multi-course menu.

The detached house and garden are the pride of the inn. Fresh food of the Seto Inland Sea is delicious

Although it is a little away from Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter, it is an inn boasts the tranquil garden and detached house.
Baths are in the detached house and wooden bathtubs made of Koyamaki (Sciadopitys verticillata) are the pride of the inn. A wooden bathtub gives you a nice smell. Those are reservable private baths for free.
Meals are served in the room and you can enjoy plenty of delicious seafood from the Seto Inland Sea.
